Privacy Policy

xvideodownload.app is a free, web-based tool for downloading videos from the social network X (formerly Twitter). We built it to do one job in a privacy-respecting way — so this policy is short, specific, and honest about what actually happens when you use the site.

What we collect

  • The x.com / twitter.com link you paste. It is processed in memory to extract the tweet ID, which we forward to our video lookup backend. The link is not written to a database, not persisted, not associated with you, and not shared with any party other than what is needed to fetch the video.
  • Standard access logs from our hosting provider (Cloudflare Workers). These include your IP address, user agent, referring page, and the URL path you requested. Cloudflare retains these for a short window (typically measured in hours to a few days) for security, anti-abuse, and operational diagnostics. We do not move this data into a separate long-term store.
  • Aggregate usage analytics via Google Analytics 4 (GA4). When you open the site, our page loads the GA4 tag (G-FGQ3J7C9BD), which sets cookies and sends page-view and basic interaction data to Google. This includes your truncated IP address, user agent, approximate geographic location, referrer, and which pages you visited. We use it only to understand how many people reach the site and which pages they use — not to identify you. See details under "Third parties we rely on" below, and Google's privacy policy. If you prefer not to be measured, use a browser with tracking protection, a content blocker, or the global privacy control.

What we don't collect

  • No account, no email, no password — we have no signup.
  • No first-party cookies or local storage used by our own code. (The GA4 cookies above are set by Google, not by us.)
  • No advertising pixels, remarketing tags, or ad identifiers.
  • No device fingerprinting.
  • No per-user download history — we do not log which videos you downloaded, tie downloads to your identity, or build a profile of your activity.

If we ever add additional third-party services (for example, error reporting, CDN-level analytics, or another vendor), we will update this policy and list the provider here before turning it on.

Third parties we rely on

  • Cloudflare Workers hosts this site and our API. Requests terminate at Cloudflare's edge before reaching our code. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Our self-hosted video-lookup backend. When you submit a link, we send only the extracted tweet ID (and no information about you) to this service, which queries X's public tweet data and returns the list of video variants.
  • video.twimg.com (X's CDN). The actual MP4 file is streamed from X's content delivery network through our proxy. Your browser does not talk to twimg.com directly for the download.
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC). Loaded client-side to measure aggregate traffic. Google receives the data described above and processes it according to its privacy policy. Cookies set by GA4 are named _ga and _ga_FGQ3J7C9BD. We do not use Google Signals or ad personalisation features.

Videos and files

We do not store the videos you download. They pass through our proxy from X's CDN to your browser and are not kept on our infrastructure beyond the duration of the request. We also do not modify, watermark, or re-encode the file.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the service in a way that reveals personal information, please contact us and we will delete any associated records (though, as stated above, we hold very few).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (for example, under GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California). Because we do not maintain user accounts, profiles, or long-term records keyed to you, most such requests have nothing to act on. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes (for example, adding analytics or cookies) will be summarised at the top of the page for a short period.
